Family Gaming Live -
Team Briefing

05/10/2023 / 20 months ago

We will soon welcome 1000s of families to our Family Gaming Live booth, offering them a unique chance to be introduced to games that are a great fit for them and their children. Thank you for being on the team that will make that a great experience for each of them. It's important to read the following.

Welcome Team

As part of the Welcome Team on the booth, you play a crucial part in setting the relaxed and conversational tone, and ensuring visitors have fun and go away with a better understanding of games for their family.

The Welcome Team greet parents and children as they arrive and ask if there's a game they would like to play. Likely the child will have a game in mind (often a game they already have at home). We aim to find a game on the booth they will like that they haven't played before and that they can play with their parent.

These questions are useful:
  • What console do you have at home?
  • What are your favourite games?
  • What other hobbies do you have?
  • How many are there in your family?
This is a good starting point to suggest a game they may like. We then take them over to the console where they can play and stay with them as they get seated and start the game. We find that parents are sometimes reluctant to play themselves but often (not always) enjoy being drawn in to hold a controller and then play with their child.

If you aren't sure what to suggest or need assistance answering any questions, we have two people from the Family Gaming Database and two people from the Games Rating Authority on the stand each day. Don't worry if you are stumped by a question, there will be someone on hand to help.

Before You Arrive

To get the most from your time at the booth, and to help the families find great games, it's important that you have looked at the list of games we have available. Find a few games on the list you like the sound of and try them out yourself if you can, or watch some videos on YouTube.

Here are some of the most popular games we have on the stand this year:

When You Arrive

We will have Exhibitor passes for you at the event. Either contact us when you arrive or go to the Exhibitor Reception. We are situated in the Family Zone at EGX which is Booth 1890 in N5. Look for the N5 sign then enter the hall and walk towards the back wall.

We will have your Family Gaming Database shirt ready for you to change into and will go through a tour of the booth to familiarise you with how it works and the games we have.

When You Leave

Please hand back your Family Gaming Database shirt and let us know when you are done for the day. Also, any feedback on which games have been popular or which games haven't worked so well is also really useful.

Any Concerns

As part of EGX, we fall under its Health and Safety plan. If you have concerns about anything on the booth please report this to Andy Robertson.
