Play OverviewPlay Overview

After Inc. (2024) is a survival strategy game that continues the story of Plague Inc. in a zombified post-apocalyptic world where you lead a struggling settlement. You work to explore the world and advance your community, carefully balancing resource production and consumption to meet tough objectives. It stands out for the interconnected web of resources, utilities and necessities that give weight to every decision.

Before each level, you choose your character and population trait. Each has specific levels of starting resources and abilities. Starting with next to nothing, you work to explore untamed land and clear out zombies to make a livable space for your community. However, every action has a cost; for example, to get water, you must build a well, requiring wood, which in turn drains your stamina to obtain. If you fail to sustain or advance your people, morale falls, your authority plummets, and you ultimately lose.

As you progress, tougher winter days arrive, disease strikes and wildfires emerge. This further strains your economy and resources. Get the balance wrong and the costs are serious. Get it right, though, and you can thrive - even building taverns and amenities that boost productivity and turn the tables in your favour.

The result is a complex leadership simulation where experience, forward-thinking and healthy risk-taking are vital for success. It's rewarding when you overcome the initial struggle and can afford luxuries that turn your desperate settlement into a thriving community.
