Play Overview
Arrogue (2025) is a shooting battle where you survive by firing arrows at encroaching walls and enemies. Play is turn-based like Angry Birds, except enemies fight back, and you upgrade your abilities as you progress. It stands out for this role-play twist on Angry Birds that adds strategy to the physics-based combat.
On your turn, you pick and aim your arrows at monsters and enemies, shielding walls, healing items or gold coins. Hitting enemies directly or making structures collapse onto them causes damage until they die. On their turn, the enemies can heal, power-up and attack back, so dispatching them efficiently is important. After beating a wave, you purchase new types of arrows (wall piercing, healing or poisonous) or choose relics to upgrade attacks (number of arrows you fire).
As you progress, you learn to deal with multiple enemies at once. Part of the fun is trying to hit as many as possible with a single shot, or causing chain reactions of destruction to the structures above them. Take too much damage from their attacks, and you have to start back at the beginning. It's all about choosing arrows and relics that work well together, then targeting enemies strategically - to kill in one shot or to minimise their attacks and abilities on their turn.
The result is a role-play battle where simple aiming and upgrades are the key to success. Watching your arrows unleash destruction is satisfying like Angry Birds, but here you need more strategy amongst the chaos.
