Play Overview
Battle Vision Network is a battle game where you fight alien opponents in a futuristic TV show. You join a team in short one-versus-one battles, matching units in rows to attack and defend. It stands out for the way the narrative of the TV show is shaped by winning and losing matches, adding extra weight to every win and loss.
In the distant future, you play a participant in a galaxy-wide, televised sporting spectacle. You choose a team with a unique backstory and abilities. Battles proceed in turns, as you move units around your side of the grid-based arena to make rows and columns of matching troops. Columns deal damage to your opponent, while rows shield you from incoming damage. You can also use your captain and special units to trigger special abilities that relate to further matching to trigger attacks.
As you progress, you recruit more captains and must slowly create a strategy that works for you and is adaptable to whatever your opponent throws at you. When you win a battle, you secure points for your team, and the narrative arc of the television season changes as teams move up and down the leaderboards.
The result is a game that not only offers surprising depth and strategy in its narrative-defining battles but also adds significance to every decision and every fight as you try to secure points for your entire team, not just yourself. That every match is against another player, also fighting for their own team, makes for an intensely competitive challenge.
