Blighted

Blighted is a fighting game where you traverse a world to save the memories of your fallen friends from an infection that turns creatures into monsters. Play involves fighting through each level with an arsenal of bone weapons to kill enemies and bosses with perfectly timed counterattacks. It stands out for how you absorb the memories and skills of the creatures you kill, evolving your abilities alongside the growing challenge of stronger foes.

You discover your village massacred and are soon fighting hordes of mutated creatures brainwashed by the cannibal Sorcisto. If you defeat enough of the same type of enemy, you gain their trait, providing more agility, regenerating health, or spirit-based attacks called Blight. Along the way, you discover creatures behind the massacre and uncover their memories to discover what happened.

As you progress, you face large boss fights that challenge you to learn their attack patterns and master timed dodges. Through exploration of the world, you find new weapons, equipment and alternative routes. As you get stronger with more Blight, the enemies also get harder to kill and more devious in their attacks.

The result is a game driven by exploration, where targeting specific bosses helps you evolve and become even stronger. You move from avoiding difficult enemies to hunting them down for their powers.
