Play OverviewPlay Overview

Bread & Fred (2023) is a cooperative running and jumping game about a pair of penguins climbing a snowy mountain. Play involves the usual timed jumps and traversal, only here you are tethered to each other. It stands out for how hard it is not only to make the jumps but co-ordinate with your teammate.

It's up to you and a friend to help Bread and Fred reach the top of the snowy summit. Time your jumps, cling to walls and swing across gaps to get to the top. But miss a jump or a hold and you plummet back down to start again.

The challenge is not only in timing, but working out how to best coordinate your jumps and swings with each other. Sometimes you need to jump together. Other times one of you can cling on while the other swings across a gap.

The result is a really tough and unforgiving game, even with the more frequent checkpoints turned on, but for those who rise to the challenge it can be very rewarding.
