Play Overview
A year after the events of the first game you play a different corporate-owned android with a declining body. You must again build a life for yourself among the stars, although this time you have a ramshackle ship and a crew you've recruited that need your help. You make choices each round with the dice you roll. This determines how likely you are to succeed at keeping the ship running, maintaining it, and even upgrading it.
As you progress you uncover a crisis unfolding in the Helion System. Two corporations are fighting a bitter, covert war sending waves of refugees, shattered hulks of ships and strange new technologies into the abyss. You navigate this shifting territory, take on contracts, get paid, and survive to see the next cycle.
The result is a game that deepens the original's concerns about personhood in a system that subjugates and commodifies personhood in favour of profits. But rather than a critique of the corporations, it focuses on the periphery of war. What happens when supplies become short, refugees need homes and debtors don’t pay up? We move from the individual precarity of the original to the collective crisis of a community in collapse.
