Play OverviewPlay Overview

Coral Island (2023) is a simulation game where you create a fantasy life for yourself on a tropical island. Alongside the usual farming and exploring, you can form friendships and even marry the characters you meet, or even explore an underwater world of magical creatures. It may sound familiar, but the depth of the characters in the worlds both above and below the sea, and the strong environmental theme, bring a different take on the cosy life game.

You play a new inhabitant of Coral Island after leaving behind your life in the big city. Starting with nothing but an overgrown field, you gradually transform it into a thriving farm. You grow crops, nurture animals, and sell your produce to purchase new decorations and tools. You can also explore the land or valuable resources and new plants and livestock, fighting monsters lurking in caves with your tools and discovering secret areas.

Progress further by interacting with the local townsfolk, to get to know their wants and needs. You can form friendships with them, and even go on dates, have picnics, and get married and start a family. You help the town with its problems, clearing pollution from the beach and recycling it. As well as the activities on land, you can go underwater and discover an entirely different world, full of merfolk and magical sea creatures. Here too, you can build relationships, clear pollution, and even have your own underwater farm.

The result is a game where you have the freedom to play how you choose; you can explore, farm, or navigate the nuances of your relationships with the characters you meet. Combine this with the two worlds you explore and the focus on creating a sustainable life, and it's a surprisingly involving and engaging experience.
