Don't Trip! (2018) is a traversal game where you move by tilting your device to place your feet on the floor. As you move forward, you must avoid hazards like Lego bricks and knife-wielding vacuum cleaners, all without going too slowly. It stands out for the unusual tilting and careful foot-placing, which have you wrestling between caution and pace.
Play involves trying to outrun (or outwalk) a fire while avoiding deadly obstacles all over the floor. To move, you place one foot on the ground by pressing the screen and tilting the device. The area you can see then pivots around your foot. By repeating this, one foot after the other, you try and get as far as you can from the fire. As you progress, more obstacles appear, including ones that move around, creating a surprisingly deep challenge as you figure out not only where to step but when.
It's a simple premise, yet the simplicity is what makes trying to get further each time so much fun. Gradually improving on your distance makes for silly fun when you have a few minutes free.
