Play Overview
Doronko Wanko (2024) (Muddy Dog) is a short strategy traversal game where you play a dog intent on ruining your master's home. Play involves exploring the house, breaking things to spill liquid and then spreading it around the house. It stands out for letting you play the bad guy (dog) and rolling in as much mess as possible to spread it around the home.
You play a cute, "innocent" Pomeranian/Spitz miniature dog who has realised he can get away with causing chaos because he's too cute to get punished. So you set about making your master's home messy and dirty. Play involves breaking things and smashing bottles on the ground. This spills all sorts of coloured liquid that you can then roll around in to spread footprints around the floor or shake it off to cover the walls.
As you progress through the different rooms of the house, you score points by wracking up the damage. This means higher-value items are best to go for. There are badges that encourage you to damage/block/ruin and generally break specific parts of the house. You can also find 12 icons to unlock additional outfits or new ways to cause damage - like the super soaker or Roomba to spread the muck around automatically.
The result is a celebration of doing the wrong thing as well as you can. Going from the pristine coordinated decor to the Splatoon-like paint-covered chaos of the complete levels is a delight.
