Play Overview
Ender Magnolia: Bloom In The Mist (2025) is a running and jumping game where you play a young girl on a mission to save what's left of a broken industrial world. By defeating world-weary robots, they join your team as a friendly face to talk to and provide their traversal and fighting powers. It stands out for how it intertwines unlocking new powers with making allies as you build a character dependent on these relationships to explore and survive the otherwise lonesome world.
Set decades after Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights, you play Lilac, a young girl who awakens in that same world with only a single memory to guide her. You explore a vast, decaying industrial land, meeting its downtrodden citizens and learning of the robotic Homunculi, driven to madness by toxic fumes. It's down to you to cure them, so you set out on your mission to begin healing the world.
Play involves running and jumping through the stages and defeating enemies. With very little strength of our own, you rely on the Homunculi you've cured, who travel with you (invisibly), to perform most actions, like parrying, using different attacks, and traversing more challenging obstacles. As you defeat and cure more Homunculi, you not only gain their aid but also learn about the troubled history that led them here.
The result is a platformer with a surprising amount of story and mechanical flexibility, both delivered through your ever-present companions. Gradually befriending tortured machines to help you save the world may sound like a strange concept, but it works for both combat and kinship to create an engaging and ultimately heartwarming game.
