Play OverviewPlay Overview

Eternal Strands (2025) is an adventure where you play a young woman fighting to reclaim her cultural homeland for her people. You explore a verdant world and use elemental and telekinetic powers alongside swords to defeat enemies and huge creatures. It stands out for the puzzle-solving and combat options you discover by experimenting with your abilities.

You play Brynn of the Weavers, who were forced out of their ancient homeland of the Enclave by monsters who covered it in a veil of darkness. Gifted unique abilities that let you alter the fabric of the world, you embark on a quest into the Veil to defeat the forces of evil and restore your people to their land.

Play involves exploring the vast open world by walking along paths and climbing up cliffs and buildings. Your elemental powers can be used to create new paths if you get stuck, for example by creating a bridge of ice over a gap too big to jump across.

The entire world is reactive to what you do, and experimenting with the different options available to you can often reveal unexpected ways to advance or defeat foes. Combat involves using both conventional weapons like swords and your elemental powers to deal damage to opponents. In addition, you can pick up bits of destroyed environments and launch them at enemies. Some enemies are so large you can even climb on top of them and use your weapons to penetrate weak spots in their armour. You can use the materials you gain from exploration and combat to upgrade your weapons and armour, letting you gradually take on more daunting challenges and get ever closer to completing your quest.

The result is a young-player-friendly game that combines an interactive and reactive world with magical abilities to create effect. Experimenting with all the different things you can do is all part of the fun, and the resulting discoveries are satisfying in their own right but also hold the keys to progression.
