Play OverviewPlay Overview

Ligo (2025) is a turn-based puzzle game where you navigate blob-like creatures to crush golden squids. You merge and split your blob character to carry blocks, climb vines and switch gravity to reach and squish the squid. It stands out for how you control all your blobs at once, which, along with the merging and splitting, encourages mechanically creative solutions.

You have one simple aim: to reach and then crush every golden squid in the level by pushing or dropping blocks onto them. The twist is that your character can split by moving into sharp bits of the level. By moving one blob into another, the two merge horizontally or vertically, enabling you to reach further platforms or climb higher vines, as you can't jump. The challenge is that you always control all the blobs at once, so you must plan ahead to achieve your desired outcome.

As you progress, levels contain energy beams that flip gravity when passing through them, and sleeping blobs that only move when merged with a woken one. In more complex levels, you have to merge and separate blobs in various ways multiple times over to manipulate your shape and position. It's often not obvious at the start of the level what you must do, and experimenting with your options is all part of the fun.

The result is a charming yet tricky thinky-puzzle game where the challenge is keeping track of multiple blobs in different gravities and shapes as you try to make them work together.
