Play Overview
Little Alchemy (2012) is a sequencing game where you combine four starter items to create new and unexpected results. You start with just four elements and drag them onto each other to create new items, which themselves can be combined and open the door to an endless array of possible outcomes - dinosaurs, unicorns and even spaceships. It stands out for how the simple premise responds to your creative combinations with surprising yet believable results.
You craft various elements using the previous ones gained. You drag one element to another to combine it and create a new one. For example, fire and water make steam, plants and wizards make druids, and fire and mountains make volcanoes. What seems super simple, soon grows unimaginably in scope. The game uses AI to produce new elements, making it possible for there to be infinite elements in the game.
As you progress, you realise the real challenge is predicting what combinations might create, but finding combinations that produce elements no one else has found. Can you find all 580 elements? Every one is a little puzzle to solve.
