Play OverviewPlay Overview

Loot Rascals (2013) is a tactical battle game about fighting weird monsters to save a robot designed to make the planet liveable. Play involves organising your cards into a strategic layout, and bumping into baddies to auto-battle them based on your deck. The twist is that when you are defeated, your cards are stolen from you by monsters and (until the online servers were turned off) other players.

You play a spaceman crash-landed on an alien planet where you explore levels and beat up enemies. Winning battles grants you loot cards which you arrange into specific layouts to get bonus stats. Each card can be kept to boost other cards with adjacency bonuses or consumed to heal or use an ability.

As you progress, enemies begin looting you and stealing your cards. Defeating tougher enemies gives you another player's card, and you get to choose whether to be greedy and keep it for yourself or return it to that player (playing in a different universe). This online aspect has now ended for the game, but originally your choice would determine whether their hologram appeared to help you or fight you.

It's a game that had a unique online multiplayer twist of stealing or returning other players' cards. Although this is now disabled, what remains is still a brilliant tactical adventure where card collecting and arranging is king.
