Play OverviewPlay Overview

Luma Island (2024) is a cooperative adventure that simulates life on a farm as you explore a magical island. You can go to the village and talk to the townsfolk, explore mysterious dungeons, fight strange monsters and expand your farm's operations. It may sound like a derivative farming sim, but the multitude of non-farming adventures and the way your activities revolve around a profession you choose mean there's much more to this than maximising your crop.

After choosing your character's appearance, you go to the town to choose a profession, each with a different difficulty rating and focusing on a different aspect of the game, be it brewing potions or going on dangerous adventures. You then do activities related to your chosen path. Based on your profession, exactly what you do varies, but play generally involves traversing the vibrant world, meeting the townsfolk, going on adventures, and tending to and expanding your farm.

Throughout the world, you can find caves and dungeons filled with monsters, traps, and environmental puzzles to solve in exchange for valuable loot. You fight monsters with an array of weapons and use tools to cultivate the land and grow crops on your farm. By talking to and completing quests for the townsfolk, you build relationships with them and once you've mastered a profession, you can start another one to discover new activities and adventures.

The result is a game that's as much about Zelda-style dungeons as it is about farming or life simulation. The professional system enables you to choose both the challenge you want and the main activities you do, making for a fun, cosy, and highly adaptable adventure.
