Play Overview
Midnight Murder Club (2025) is a stealth shooting game where you compete with others online to sneak around a dark mansion and complete objectives. Primarily armed with just a flashlight, you play with and against your friends, hoping to be spotted. It stands out for the unusual way the darkness forces you to play and the lighthearted but fierce competition that arises.
It's a six-player online game where you compete in teams of two or all against each other. In each level, you have a specific objective, ranging from stealing the most valuable artefacts to simply trying to kill everyone else. You start out with only a flashlight and a revolver, but as you explore the mansion you can find different weapons, tools and traps which can give you an advantage and change the way you play.
Central to the whole experience is the omnipresent darkness of the entire mansion; the only light sources are your flashlight and the flashes from guns and other weapons. Using your light is a constant balancing act of navigation and trying to remain hidden. You can also voice-chat to teammates but must be careful that opponents don't overhear.
The result is a game that combines stealth and tension as you explore the darkness. It's the lighthearted spooky fun of sneaking up on friends in the dark and surprising them.
