Play Overview
You play Michi, a former member of the Yakuza crime syndicate who's exiled to the town of Kaso-Machi. When you arrive, you assume control of the Promise Mascot Agency and aim to turn its fortunes around by recruiting mascots and completing jobs for the town's residents. You get help from other strange employees, like Pinky, a giant severed thumb. As you traverse the world, you meet new mascots to expand your coverage and turn the agency into a world-class establishment.
Play involves driving about the world with your mascots and using them to complete jobs. You recruit new mascots by negotiating the terms of their employment - salary, time off and shares. Mascots each have unique personalities that you get to know over the course of the extremely strange story. You train your mascots and then send them out to complete jobs in the open world; when they (inevitably) don't go smoothly, you use different cards you collect to battle the hindrance. For example, when a tofu mascot can't fit through a door, you must fight the doorframe. The money you earn from completed jobs goes towards your employees' salaries, as well as upgrades to your truck and other helpful boosts.
The result is a game that tells an entertainingly bizarre story. This, combined with tactical card-based action and business management, offers something not only peculiar but challenging and rewarding.
