Recharge is a racing game where, rather than driving on streets or racetracks, you navigate an RC car through miniature courses. You race through caravan parks, construction sites, and amusement venues across different types of terrain, outfitting your car to suit the environment. It stands out for the toy-like track designs made possible by the realistic simulation of RC car physics.

Play involves racing against other RC cars in races on extravagant courses with twists, turns, and loops and across a variety of terrain types. Your car is skittish and twitchy like a real RC car, and mastering manoeuvring through tight turns and over jumps is essential to success. The different surfaces you drive on play an important role too; at this scale, gravel can seriously disrupt your driving, and you must plan accordingly by fitting different parts to your car and adapting to each race.

There are courses and an open-world designed for simple fun, but there's also significant depth reflecting real-world RC car racing. You can repair your car mid-race in a pitstop and play on professionally designed tracks for more competitive play. You can even use a real RC car controller instead of a gamepad. Another game mode adds weapons to your car for all-out destructive carnage.

The result is a game where you can have silly fun with weaponised cars or dip your toe into the competitive RC car racing scene. Mastering the movement of your car and adapting to each race environment is not only essential but also makes for a fun and surprisingly in-depth experience.
