Play Overview
Replicube (2025) is a puzzle game where you recreate 3D pixel art using code. You start with empty space and must write lines of code that program coloured blocks into position until your creation matches the target reference. It stands out for not defining right or wrong ways to code but rather embracing newcomers' creative experimentation.
You type text to create the desired blocky images such as tables, polaroid cameras and bowling pins. Finding how to use these typed instructions to create the required combinations and colours of small cubes isn't as impenetrable as it sounds. At any stage of the coding process, you can run your code to compare what you have so far with what you're trying to reach, getting iteratively closer to the goal through trial and error.
Once you have successfully recreated the image, you are placed on two leaderboards that compare the length and efficiency of your code against other players who have also beaten the challenge. You can keep refining your code to climb the leaderboards or move on to a different puzzle. There is also a mode that enables you to code whatever you want without an end goal, useful for practising your skills or simply being creative, even enabling animation for more advanced coders.
The result is a surprisingly beginner-friendly coding game that's all about trial and error and problem-solving. It's incredibly satisfying when you finally get it right and keeps you thinking about ways to improve your code even after succeeding.
