Play Overview
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is an adventure game where you explore a mythological island in the 15th century. You fight enemies and solve ancient puzzles as you switch between the Middle Ages and ancient Greek mythology. A prequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence and Requiem, it has a greater emphasis on combat while building on the narrative of the previous games.
Set 15 years before A Plague Tale: Innocence, you play Sophia, first introduced in A Plague Tale: Requiem, as you explore the mythological Minotaur's Island while chased by an enemy army. You also experience flashbacks to ancient Minoan times, playing a second character. Your two protagonists' stories are intertwined, with what happens in the past affecting what you can do in the future. In this way, you learn the secrets of the island.
Play involves exploring and fighting enemies, then solving puzzles like those in an Indiana Jones film, such as aligning beams of light to match a mural or figuring out how to open a door. Combat is more of a focus here than in the prior games, and you must dodge incoming attacks and find openings to defeat your foes. At times, though, sneaking around and avoiding combat is still the most effective option.
The result is a game that expands the series' narrative with a mythological story told across two time periods and offers a more combat-focused experience. Gradually piecing together the secrets of Minotaur's Island as you hone your fighting skills makes for a compelling challenge.
