Play OverviewPlay Overview

Simmiland (2018) is a simulation game where you play god and steer a civilisation away from (or toward) its imminent destruction. Play involves listening to the needs of your people, giving them resources by playing cards and guiding their progression. It stands out for the silly ways your people find themselves in trouble and the wealth of options you have at your disposal to cause chaos or harmony.

You play as the omnipotent god of a new civilisation. You observe the prayers of your loyal followers and play resource cards from your deck, slowly building up society from pre-fire to a space age, by providing what they need to survive and thrive. It sounds simple, but simultaneously balancing every citizen's needs and shaping their future is challenging.

As you progress you gain faith points by answering prayers, which you use to buy more advanced cards. For example, you can purchase meteor strikes to punish your people or generate precious minerals by playing a quake card to alter the land itself. When you run out of currency and cards, the game ends and grants you a relative amount of currency to start the next round based on how far your civilisation developed.

The result is a game that combines the familiar fun of playing god with a deck-building system that rewards you for helping your people survive, while still providing plenty of space to inflict some havoc on your followers.
