Sluggish is an unforgiving slithering and jumping game about climbing a dark underworld to reach the top of a mountain. Play involves guiding your slippery slug-like character with a double jump to make use of the environmental physics to progress. It stands out for offering a Jump King challenge, while also offering more control and friendly checkpoints.
Your challenge is to guide a bouncy, slippery slug spirit upward through Sorborn's seamless vertical underworld to reach the Well of Souls. It's an intentionally punishing platformer but with levels designed to ensure progress is (technically) possible. As you progress, you learn to deal with your slippery character, dodge obstacles and deal with enemies. Still, one wrong move and you're back to the start.
The result is a quick to learn game that gets frustrating fast, but equally invites you to lean into the physics and find a way to survive.
