Play Overview
Stage Fright is a frantic cooperative adventure that tells the story of three teenagers, Drew, Blake and Charlie, thrown into a world they must escape. You play in two eras, the future and the past and must work together to explore, solve puzzles, defeat enemies and escape tricky scenarios. It stands out for its coming-of-age story that mixes the future and the past where cooperation is integral to the story in unexpected ways.
Set in a fantasy environment, you and a friend play two of the three unique characters. As you solve each puzzle you need to use the different time zones to your advantage, altering the past enables you to interact with the future. In this way, you work together to use time to escape. At certain points in the game enemies must be defeated to progress - aliens with tentacles to one-eyed wolves.
To progress you need to work out who needs to do what and then coordinate your actions. It's a challenge that combines communication and timing. As you master the varying puzzles together you slowly discover what is really going on and how the both of you can escape back to your own timeline.
The result is a game designed around two players working together. It's an existential journey about growing up and meeting expectations. It can be difficult, but you learn to trust your friends and experience each character's story together.
