Play OverviewPlay Overview

Temtem Swarm (2024) is a shooting survival game where you play a Temtem creature trying to survive ever more powerful swarms of enemies. You avoid incoming attacks and hit back with automatic and targeted attacks. It may sound like a straightforward survival game, but the ability to evolve your Temtem mid-run and gain powerful permanent boosts means there's considerably more depth to it.

You play a Temtem creature and must survive for as long as you can against waves of enemies. You start with only simple automatic attacks and must focus on moving about to avoid getting hit. As you steadily defeat more enemies you unlock powerful automatic attacks, along with manual ones you aim and fire when they're needed. Different enemies are weak to certain types of attack, and ensuring you have options for defeating every type of opponent is essential. Alongside the standard opponents, some more powerful enemies take much longer to kill, and you must dodge out of the way of their attacks and anticipate their movements.

As you progress, you can upgrade your abilities to deal more damage or your defences to take more hits. When you die, you must start again, either with the same Temtem or a different one. You can use any loot you collect to apply permanent upgrades to each Temtem. Tinkering with these upgrades to build a Temtem that suits the way you play is essential to survive for the longest time. Additionally, you can team up with other players to fight off waves of even more enemies.

The result is a game that combines roguelike survival with type-based attacks and evolution to create a novel experience that works surprisingly well. Experimenting with ambitious attack combinations and upgrades to find unusual yet effective strategies is part of the fun of overcoming the chaos.
