Toggle Tile (2025) is a layered puzzle game about grids within grids. Your aim is to toggle all the tiles by clicking, shifting, and rotating them (however, each tile affects those around it in different ways). It stands out for its simple premise that transforms into an interconnected chain reaction of toggling.
It's played on a 3-by-3 grid with the simple challenge of toggling all the tiles to the opposite colour. However, each tile displays a 3-by-3 grid of its own to indicate how it toggles other tiles when it is clicked. In this way, clicking a tile applies its internal pattern to the main board, turning tiles on or off, rotating orientations, and shifting positions. You have to work with, rather than against, this interlocking logic if you are to get them all turned over and clear the level.
The result is a finely tuned puzzle that demands sequencing and foresight. The layers of deep, combinatorial puzzles aren't for the faint-hearted but are hugely satisfying when they lock into place to clear the board.
