Play Overview
Windswept is a running and jumping game where you control a cute duck and a turtle duo going home after being blown away by a storm. Play involves using each animal's unique set of moves to complete platforming challenges, defeat enemies, and get to the goal. Inspired by retro 90s platform games, it focuses on fluid movement and combat through playing as a team of synergistic animals.
You play as both a duck and a turtle with separate abilities accessed by tag teaming. For example, the turtle can retreat into his shell and be bumped by the duck into enemies. The challenge lies in using both your characters' abilities in harmony to get past tricky timed jumps and baddies.
As you progress, you travel through five regions and encounter other friendly creatures to team up with like dolphins that barrel through enemies or lizards that create temporary platforms. You discover a moth's shop and mini-game arcade where you can trade coins for more levels. Along the way, you discover secret levels and collectables hidden throughout each stage. Once you complete levels normally you can set timers to try and beat your best times.
This results in a wholesome, speed-run-friendly homage to retro platform games, full of adorable creatures to team up with (or beat up).
