The Rusty Lake Franchise

The Rusty Lake franchise is a series of mystery point-and-click games where you piece together a slow mystery that spans all 16 games.

Heavily inspired by the mystery-horror TV series Twin Peaks, the games feature an uneasy humour and add a twist to the genre as you slowly piece together the story of a detective investigating the death of a woman in an "escape room" style of game. The story branches across all the games to tell a complete narrative that only uncovers itself after close inspection and deliberation.

There have been 7 games in the Rusty Lake franchise.
The first game was released in 2013 on Android, Mac, PC and iOS and the most recent release was The Past Within in 2022 on Android, Nintendo Switch, PC and iOS.

The most popular game in the franchise is The White Door with 22 likes. The franchise as a whole has 92 likes on the database. Unfortunately, The Past Within is not available on Mac, PS4, PS5, Xbox One or Xbox X|S. However, there are other games similar to The Past Within on these platforms that offer an equivalent experience.
