Play OverviewPlay Overview

Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure (2024) is a puzzle game where you move the ground under your feet to progress through a world overrun by a strange static force. To move around you slide the grid-based play area, like a tile-sliding toy, which makes traversing the world and attacking enemies as much a puzzle as a battle. It stands out for this unusual way of getting around and you must work with it to find clever ways past blockades and move weapons to defeat monsters.

You play Jemma, a young girl with the unusual ability to shift the ground under her feet when she moves. Feeling like a misfit in her village, she sets out into the world beyond, where a strange static menace means everything is stuck in place.

Play involves moving about the sprawling, irregular grid-based world. When you move, all the tiles on your row move with you. Some enemies and certain obstacles move with you, while others remain locked in place. To defeat enemies, you move sword items around the grid until they collide with enemies, and getting the weapons to touch the monsters adds complexity due to the irregular stage shapes that restrict movement.

The result is a game where your movement is the core of the brain-twisting challenge. Exploiting different sequences of moves to get past seemingly impossible obstacles and move weapons to defeat enemies rewards a measured, thoughtful approach, and remains engaging throughout the game.
