DuneCrawl is an adventure game where you play a gun-for-hire in a fantasy wild-west adventure. Alone or with friends, you construct and pilot a mechanical warship base and take it across the dunes to complete jobs and fight opponents. In a desert wasteland of sand dunes and small outposts, you play a privateer seeking to cement their legacy as the greatest of their generation. By yourself or with friends, you assume control of the characters and their Dune Crawler - a base built on top of a massive creature - and sail the dune seas in search of glory.
Play involves exploring the world, completing jobs in exchange for loot, and fighting your enemies. You customise your Crawler with guns and different gear then use it to travel across the sands, using the cannons to fight other groups of privateers and pirates. Players can work together to pilot the craft, manning guns, locomotion and other tactical aspects.
You also explore outposts on foot and by riding smaller creatures. Along the way you talk to the people you meet, who give you missions to complete. Fights can occur in and around settlements, and you use bows and arrows as well as grenades to defeat your enemies. As you play, you unlock new items for your Crawler, and gradually grow in strength and fame.
The result is a game that takes the classic play of a pirating adventure and places it in an entirely new location. Whether you play by yourself or with friends, the process of travelling the sands in search of adventure and glory makes for an engaging and entertaining experience.
