Play Overview
In Sink (2024) is a collaborative adventure where you are shipwrecked and must travel through rifts to other worlds to get back home. Play involves each play investigating their different views of the world to work out how to solve puzzles and progress. It stands out for how each area has been designed to require players to communicate and work together.
After being shipwrecked you set off on a journey through a hidden pirate ship, a mysterious art museum and a train that defies the laws of physics. To progress you have to work together to solve puzzles. While the players need to communicate really well, the game itself uses shapes, signs, colours, and numbers rather than language. Turn wheels, flip levers, use scales, and press buttons and pressure plates to solve unique conundrums with your partner.
The result is a game as much about communicating clearly as complex puzzles. The key to success is really good observation and then clear communication between each player. If you do get stuck there's a great hint system to get you going again (without spoiling the puzzles). It's approachable and welcoming with simple controls and a great way for families to play and learn together.
