Play OverviewPlay Overview

Legend Of The Skyfish 2 (2024) is a storybook adventure where you head into a dangerous land, hopping from island to island, solving puzzles and battling enemies. Play is challenging with tough combat, ability-based exploration and loads of weapons to discover. This sequel adds a fishing tournament, weapon enchantments and loads of side missions to the arcade-style adventure. It's a highly polished experience that brings a simplified Zelda adventure to other platforms.

You dive into a world inhabited by monsters with only your combat fishing pole for defence. As you meet the locals you decide to help the warriors of the Red Hook clan to save the kingdom from the Skyfish lord of the deep seas. To succeed you must search the land, survive traps and destroy the main monster statue at the end of the stage.

You use a fishing rod as your weapon and as a grappling hook to jump and pull yourself between islands. You can also pull enemies towards you to fight or throw them towards the spikes or traps. You progress through the game, island by island and can upgrade your character with more hearts. This time round you can find new weapons to upgrade (sword, axe, warhammer, halberd, scythe and wand) and take on lots more side missions in town.

Along with the simple combat, you need to trigger buttons and move blocks around to open new ways forward or to open a gate to the next area. Within each level, you can find chests that contain items and new rods with stronger or faster abilities. The second game adds more quests to the challenge, like finding lost warriors, that help you progress. You collect gems and loot from the enemies you defeat to craft upgrades for your fishing rod.

It's unique not only because of the multipurpose fishing rod weapon but the quality of visuals, music and some of the best mission guidance and storytelling seen in these kinds of games. It has simple moving and aiming controls via the touch screen on mobile versions and a compelling adventure story which makes it suitable for both younger children and adults to play.
