Play OverviewPlay Overview

Milky Way Prince: The Vampire Star is a mature narrative game about an abusive relationship. You play as Nuki who embarks on a love affair that turns out to be dysfunctional, traumatic and damaging. It stands out for its unflinching honesty about the interweaving of love and darkness of human interaction.

Milky Way Prince is the creation of Lorenzo Redaelli and the story is partially autobiographical. You play Nuki, who meets and falls for the delicate intoxicating Sune. This soon turns into a dark love affair. As you progress, it becomes clear this is unlike other interactive novels. Not only is it uncomfortably vulnerable and honest about its subject matter, but in the interactive experience it presents. As you interact, your partner in the game has their own aims they achieve through controlling you with "rage tests", "love bombing", or "guilt trips".

Visually stark with minimalist sets and roughly outlined characters, the dialogue shifts and mutates even as you try to make choices. Will you always love me? Will you always protect me? You are asked throughout, in a way that starts as tender but soon becomes coercive and claustrophobic. During moments of intimacy, you are asked which senses to use with your partner.

The result is an experimental and courageous invitation to experience a summer of dysfunctional love, warts and all. Not for the faint-hearted, but a unique way to step into the stormy seas of consent, coercion and how toxic relationships are hard to escape.
