Play OverviewPlay Overview

Peripeteia (2025) is a gritty immersive adventure where you play a cybernetically enhanced mercenary tackling dangerous jobs in dystopian Poland. You explore sprawling, vertical environments with little guidance, using stealth, platforming and gunplay to complete missions. It stands out for how you equip interchangeable cybernetic upgrades to access new areas, sneak past enemies, or fight through overwhelming odds.

You play Marie, a cybernetic supersoldier, completing missions that require you to run and jump through the Polish cyberpunk world. How you succeed is up to you. In the first mission, for example, you must bypass armed soldiers to retrieve a valuable lightbulb — whether by killing them, sneaking past, or even temporarily allying with them. Helping you are cybernetic augments like night vision or invisibility, which you unlock and can freely swap between. The catch is you can only use so many at once and for a limited time before needing to find new batteries to charge them.

As you progress, you loot an arsenal of weapons ranging from firearms to katanas, all of which must be managed within a grid-based inventory system where items fit together like Tetris pieces. In this way, what you carry becomes as much of a skill-based challenge as the missions themselves; learning which weapons to make space for and which to sacrifice is all part of the fun.

The result is a dark, tough game that's all about experimenting with strategies, augments and weapons. The retro visuals and lack of hand-holding give the game a nostalgic feel reminiscent of 90s-era shooting and stealth classics.

Content Rating

This game has not yet been rated, but we anticipate it is likely to be rated PEGI 16.

When shooting enemies, there is a mist of blood, and their bodies remain on the floor. The game contains story references to adult subject matter, including drug and alcohol abuse and self-harm.

Skill Level

12+ year-olds usually have the required skill to enjoy this game. Still, it's important for parents and guardians to consider the maturity required to process the game content. The game does not tell you what to do, so comprehension and resilience when feeling lost are important to avoid feeling frustrated. Quick reactions are helpful when fighting, however if you prefer to be cautious and stealthy, you can do that instead.
