Pinball Blitz is a traversal game where you score points by defeating enemies you create yourself. You score pinball points by flipping your ball to defeat enemies, earning upgrades and building up to defeat bosses. It's unusual because you control the flow of enemies, and must balance point-scoring with survivability, maximising the chance for success while keeping it possible.

You create a pinball table by selecting the paddles and the board design. You then play the table and score points by hitting different targets. Enemies appear if you hit certain parts of the table, and must be defeated with the ball. Let them reach the bottom of the table, though, and they deal damage to you.

Once you've gained enough points and upgrades, you must defeat a major enemy that shoots at you from its position in the middle of the board. Defeat it, and you get one more upgrade before trying to score as many points as possible while enemies pour down at you uncontrollably. When you die, you have to start again from the very beginning. So the fun comes from perfecting your skills to improve your high score.

The result is a game where you must gradually find the balance between getting points and surviving. Mastering the geography of the pinball table to summon enemies when you need to while not tipping the scales too far makes for a surprisingly tactical game of skill.
