Play OverviewPlay Overview

Polimines (2022) is a puzzle game where you play Minesweeper with a twist. Along with uncovering the usual numeric clues on the grid, you are also given the total number of mines for each row and column. This leans into the deduction aspect of Minesweeper, offering just enough information for you to work out where all the mines are one step at a time.

The levels are grids of different shapes and sizes. Numbers along the edges indicate how many consecutive mines there are in that row or column. Additionally, some of the squares in the grid can be revealed to show how many adjacent mines they have. You use these clues, like a Sudoku, to piece together where the mines could be.

While it's a simple concept, as the levels get larger and more complex, keeping track of where mines could be quickly becomes a far more challenging endeavour. Considered and careful examination of each piece of information you have is essential in helping you to narrow their locations down.

The result is a game where determined consideration of your every move is essential to your success. While it can get tense, and sometimes seem impossible, the satisfaction of correctly identifying where each mine is as you gradually complete the largest levels is highly rewarding.

Our examiner, Ben Kendall, first checked Polimines 6 weeks ago. It was re-examined by Jo Robertson and updated 5 weeks ago.
