Play Overview
Snapshot (2012) is a running and jumping with a puzzle twist where you photograph objects and paste them back into the game world to complete puzzles. You capture images of game objects and manipulate them to enable you to traverse gaps and traps and reach the goal. It's unique because it combines familiar platform gameplay with its clever photography tricks.
You play as Pic, a solitary robot in an abandoned world armed with a magic camera. You take photos of objects in the game world and paste them into a different place to create a path forward. Traversing dangerous traps and jumps isn't too tricky, but the challenge lies in using game objects creatively to complete puzzles.
As you progress, more features are introduced like zones where you aren't allowed to use your camera or the ability to clone game objects. You also learn to rotate pictures, manipulating the game's physics in unusual ways. For example, photographing a falling ball and rotating it to the left will keep its momentum but shoot it sideways.
The result is a unique combination of platforming and photography puzzles complemented by cute artwork and a loveable robot protagonist.
