Play OverviewPlay Overview

The Palace on the Hill (2024) is a narrative adventure about a young boy in fictional 90s rural India. Play involves exploring the Indian countryside to run errands, find ingredients to cook and inspiration for making art. It stands out for its rural Indian setting and the young boy's struggle and friendship.

Step into the daily life of a cosy hillside village and guide Vir, a poor farmer’s son, who dreams of studying art. Play draws on classic farm and business management while offering simple creative ways to interact with the world.

As you progress you meet friends and family who give you errands to run. Some are simple fetch quests while others offer some light puzzles. You can also create pictures by placing the landscape elements you collect on your journey. You can take things at your own pace as you explore the open world and tick off collectables and quests.

The result is a vibrant hand-painted adventure, that's as much about Indian cooking and tea shop management as it is conquering the world. It's a feel-good story of achievement despite social marginalisation.
