The original Xbox launched in 2001 with the headline game, Halo. A year later the online service Xbox Live service extended the experience. You can play some original Xbox games on the Xbox One and Xbox Series X and S via the Backward Compatibility feature that emulates the older hardware when you put an older disc in a newer system. You can't use Xbox 360 or Xbox One controllers on the original Xbox. It launched with a slightly larger controller that was soon replaced by a version more suitable for smaller hands.
