Play Overview
Deep Sea Adventure (2014) is a pocket-sized strategy game where you dive into the sea to bring back treasure. It’s unusual because although you compete with other players for treasure you share the same limited air supply.
Play involves rolling a dice to move along the stepping stones to the treasure. The deeper you go the higher the value of the treasure pieces. Each piece of treasure you carry means you use one oxygen and deduct one from your movement. As you progress you develop tactics to manage the risk-reward aspect. This changes over the three rounds because the track shortens and higher-value items are more accessible.
This results in a game you can play almost anywhere. It teaches players to observe, strategise and calculate the odds of success. The thrill of each move is deciding what to do; retreat to the safety of the submarine or risk travelling further in search of higher rewards.

8+ year-olds usually have the required skill to enjoy this game. You need to be able to think ahead and weigh up the risk of picking up more treasure which also slows you down. Additionally, the game's main strategy involves the shared supply of oxygen that players can both preserve for their own use but also deplete to cause opponents to drown.
