Play Overview
Noggin is a communication trivia game where you compete to give the fastest correct answers to word puzzles. You play by laying cards and shouting out answers. It is a game of quick thinking, creative answering and doing your best to avoid saying something completely ridiculous.
You take turns to quickly flip over a card and lay it down on one of three piles. If it's a Letter card your go is over. If it's an Action card, everyone quickly tries to use the letters in play to create a solution for the specific action. For example, using the letters A and M to think of two words that are associated, such as ambulance and medicine. The first player to shout out a correct solution claims the action card.
There are seven different Action cards, some require more quick thinking than others. For example, where you need to use letters to think of a famous person's name that matches the letter. Still, most actions are often solved quickly and the game moves on at a quick pace. Once all the cards are turned over, the winner is the player with the most action cards.
The game is great because of its pace. You can grasp the rules very easily and be playing a game within minutes. Then when you are playing, the game ticks along quickly and everyone playing feels involved. Often the time pressure will force you to give a wrong answer and this is what brings the most joy to this game.
