Play Overview
Roll For It! (2011) is a push-your-luck dice game where you compete to be the first to forty points. You roll dice to complete point sequences - the more complex, the bigger the score. It is a mix of chance and strategy, where even the savviest of players can be left waiting for that lucky roll.
You start by choosing a set of six coloured dice and shuffling the deck of cards. Each Target card displays a combination of between three and six dice and the points completing it is worth. You lay out three of these Target cards, which all players compete to complete.
You take turns to roll your dice, aiming to match them with the dice on the Target cards. If you complete the combination, then you take the card, score its allocated points total and replace it with another card. You can continue to do this until you have exhausted all possibilities with the dice that you rolled.
If you cannot fully complete a card, then you can choose to leave some dice next to a Target card in the hope of completing it with your remaining dice on a later turn. Play continues until one player has collected enough cards to score 40 points. They are the winner.
It's a simple game about rolling and placing dice, but what makes it interesting is the different ways you can win. Completing higher-scoring cards takes more dice, but means you have less chance of completing it in one go. Leaving matching dice behind means you have fewer to roll on your next turn. It quickly becomes a game about playing the odds and using your dice cleverly to complete combinations before others.
