Crashlands is a world-building game where you fight monsters, craft resources, and build a base on an alien planet. As you explore, either on your own or with a friend, you encounter locals, complete quests and missions, and meet strange new enemies. It combines exacting combat with exploration, simulation, and a cartoon visual style to create a finely balanced challenge.

You can save at any time and can transfer your save file from one platform to another.

The text throughout is high-contrast and fairly large, but isn't 1/20th of the screen height. When a character is speaking, there is a speech bubble with their text in it (in their unique colour), and their name also appears by the speech bubble. you can select different colourblind modes, which each adjust different in-game objects to make them easier to see for each different type of colourblindness

When using a controller, you can adjust the deadzone but can't change the sensitivity of the joysticks. Combat often requires fast reactions to things on screen, and sometimes requires that you press buttons rapidly, hold down buttons or press multiple at the same time.

You can adjust the head-up display in several ways, including by changing the overall size and the position of the hotbar.
