Figment is a narrative adventure game set inside a traumatised mind. You explore a whimsical, musical world, complete puzzles, and defeat monsters to uncover a story of optimism and overcoming fear. The unusual, hand-painted art style, a musical score that adapts to the environment, varied challenges, and a heartfelt story make it a surreal yet engaging game.

Our accessibility examiner, Ben Kendall, first checked Figment accessibility 21 months ago.

NotesAccessibility Notes

During fights, you press a button to swing your sword. While pressing the button faster does mean that you attack more quickly, you don't need to in order to win. You can also perform a higher-damage attack by holding down the button for a while, but again this isn't necessary. You do still need to quickly react to incoming attacks though.

While all text and subtitles are high contrast, being white with a black outline, they're not 1/20th the height of the screen, although subtitles are still fairly large.

On Switch, you can use the touchscreen or a joystick to navigate through the menu.

There is no head-up display, so navigating around the game area can sometimes be a challenge, but you are frequently pointed in the right direction. In addition, the game's art style can make it difficult to discern what is a path and what is decoration. The backgrounds often have moving elements that can distract from the action.
