Play Overview
The story is told through a series of 20 songs, and each song is broken down into section you hear and then repeat by pressing the right buttons. Get it right and you proceed, fail and you simply try again.
Unlike other rhythm games, A Musical Story doesn't try to make you feel like you are playing the music. It keeps things as a simple call and response. While more experienced players may balk at this staccato simplicity, for newcomers it works really well.
As you progress you hear more of the story through each of the songs, and learn about the heroes situation through the connections to his musical memory. Like Sayonara Wild Hearts, each correctly played melody opens a new chapter into Gabriel’s past, bringing him closer to the truth. If you fail you simply try again. Play every song perfectly to unlock a hidden chapter.

Age Ratings
There is a single scene in the game that has led to the higher age rating. In this scene the characters are naked and bare breasts are visible. At one point in the game one of the characters is smoking.
Skill Level
12+ year-olds usually have the required skill to enjoy this game. Still, it's important for parents and guardians to consider the maturity required to process the game content. Although younger children may have the rhythm skill to play the game, the themes and story require a more mature player.
