Play Overview
Alien: Isolation (2014) is an adventure horror game set in space, remastered in 2019 from the 2014 game due to its popularity. You play Amanda who is trying to find out the truth behind her mother's disappearance. You explore Sevastopol, a decommissioned trading station where your mother was last seen, but upon arrival you and the crew discover an Alien.
Unlike other space alien games that throw masses of enemies at you, Alien Isolation creates constant tension through being hunted by a single intelligent alien. You have to scavenge for resources, hack systems and craft items but all the time watch your back for the creature closing in. Do well and you gain the items you need to progress. But still it's your choice whether to avoid, distract or fight the persistent Alien.
The strong narrative and dark atmosphere of Sevastopol creates an unnerving environment where the alien could be around any corner. The base slowly tells its story as you discover the remains and discard lives that went before. Each room has a past life with furniture, beds, tape recordings and even broken cups making clear that something went very wrong here.
