Play OverviewPlay Overview

Botany Manor (2024) is a peaceful puzzle game where you explore a 19th-century English home and gardens and care for the plants you find. By reading the newspapers, postcards and posters in the house, you discover how to look after each species, from pot size to location to temperature. The distinct lack of score, time pressures or overarching objectives enables the simplicity and joy of growing beautiful plants to shine.

You wander through a multitude of unique and antique rooms in the manor and its sprawling grounds. As you do you find all sorts of plants, pots, seeds, and helpful tips for keeping each species. Sometimes this is a clipped phrase from an article in the paper. Other times it's a letter from an old friend. With this acquired knowledge and growing confidence you can set about moving and repotting the plants you find, so they can thrive in the perfect environment.

It's more than a matter of fetching and carrying the flora though. As you foster the plants, you need to think outside the box to find clever ways of maximising their ideal environment; experimenting with different locations and variables is often the key to success.

The result is a unique puzzle game where brutal environments and rigorous objectives are replaced by the more relaxed yet equally challenging trials and tribulations of keeping your plants alive, where experimentation, curiosity and patience are the keys to success. Along the way, you uncover scraps of information that tell the story of the manor's former owner and her journey through her scientific career.
