Boyfriend Dungeon (2021) is an adventure set in an urban dungeon where weapons transform into potential dating partners. It's a mix of a brawling action game and a dating simulator.

Play involves exploring the dungeons, battling enemies with varied attacks and finding resources to craft gifts to each of the weapon-based characters to earn their affections. You discover someone's abducting the weapons and leaving them damaged in the dungeon. You set out to find them all and solve the blade-napping mystery -- and hopefully love along the way.

The fighting requires some skill as you must quickly pick your attack and weapon: hit hard and dodge quickly with the dagger, or take on crowds with Lasersaber. At the same time, you need to use your social deduction and people skills to decide which date will love which gift. For example, Isaac the sharpest dresser, Valeria tired of backstabbing or Sunder who's worried he’s becoming an antique. Do you date them all or just be best friends?

The result is a somewhat bonkers curio of a game with serious intentions of integrating the two genres of dungeon-crawling and dating. Some might find the combat too simple, but it's those who love the characters and absurd dating shenanigans who will get the most from it. Inclusive, tasteful approach to gender and sexuality - male, female, and non-binary romance.
