Play Overview
This sets up a tongue in cheek romp through side-scrolling levels for four players. The emphasis is on mashing buttons and battering enemies, but the visuals remain cartoony. As you progress you can find new weapons and upgrade your characters. Players work together but also race to pick up the most coins to get the best upgrades.
Castle Crashers Remastered was released for newer consoles with better visuals and smoother frame rates.
Our examiner, Andy Robertson, first checked Castle Crashers 5 years ago. It was re-examined by Thom Robertson and updated 5 weeks ago.

Skill Level
8+ year-olds usually have the required skill to enjoy this game. Still, it's important for parents and guardians to consider the maturity required to process the game content. Simple slapstick fighting requires a relatively low skill level. Younger players not worried about the cartoon gore will enjoy the bravado and tongue in cheek Monty Python-style humour. Playing together with youngsters also makes this a good fit for lower skill levels.
