Play OverviewPlay Overview

Digital Compass is an adventure game set in a fictional fantasy town. You choose from a series of eight young characters facing tough decisions about civic life: social media, homework, popularity, sports and romance to name a few.

Play involves selecting one of the characters and making choices to guide them through their digital dilemmas. You make a series of choices that have both obvious and less obvious consequences. Novel for these sorts of games, at any time you can pull up a map of the decisions you have made to trace how things turned out.

Although the game is focused squarely on education rather than entertainment, and older children might find it heavy-handed, the quality of the product makes it stand out. The characters are well fleshed out, the graphics engaging and all the dialogue is fully voiced.

The result is an innovative way for children to explore how decisions made in their digital lives can affect their relationships and futures. The varied story paths and multiple decision points encourage students to play repeatedly in order to explore alternative courses of action.
